I’ve Always been a painter

At college my art teacher, Mr. Stair (Fred) always said I was a natural painter and much better than he was at the same age. He was so pleased one day to inform me that on his recommendation alone, he had secured me a start with a very reputable agency in Bristol as a commercial artist, I informed him I had just signed up to the Royal Navy,…… I don’t think he ever spoke to me again.

So it was with an artists eye view I now spent the next 10 years in the Royal Navy travelling mostly the Mediterranean Sea, Scandanavia and North America. Viewing the work of poster painters, ceiling painters, cave painters and tomb painters, I marveled at them all.

I am now finally putting paint to canvas, I’m still exploring different styles and techniques, but have always been drawn to expressionism/impressionism and abstract realism, it’s all in the ‘Ugly’ brushstrokes, I will add images of artworks as I progress, so thank you for taking the time to visit my pages on the world wide web. Hopefully my paintings can brighten an empty space on your walls.

Please use the ‘Contact’' page to message me directly, I welcome your enquiries.

Regards Vic Potter.
